WAV or MP3 for Subliminals? Why the Silent Layer Needs Lossless

Studio master (WAV) keeps every layer as rendered, including the silent band. Compact copy (MP3) is smaller, but it does not reliably preserve the silent layer.

The two format cards are outcomes. Studio master (WAV) keeps the rendered signal lossless, including the silent layer. Compact copy (MP3) trades signal detail for size. Its lossy encoding does not reliably preserve the silent layer's ultra-high band.

Set your player to repeat-one when you want the file to loop. If you use the silent layer, keep the WAV master and use playback that does not re-encode the file.
