Each voice takes a spot on a stage between your ears. Pan places it left to right; depth moves it toward the back of the room (softer and darker); a small start offset stops voices from speaking in lockstep. Motion (Pendulum or Orbit) moves a voice through the room while it speaks, the “8D” effect. It is most noticeable on headphones and is included in the exported file. Drag a face to place it, or focus it and use the arrow keys: left and right for pan, up and down for distance, Shift for bigger steps, Home to center.
Spreading the cast keeps voices distinct without making any one of them louder. A wide, varied stage sits more easily under the music bed than a single center voice.
